1. Classification by working principle
According to different working principles, time relays can be divided into air damping time relays, electric time relays, electromagnetic time relays, electronic time relays and so on.
(1) The air damping time relay uses the principle of damping when the air passes through the small hole to obtain the time delay. Its structure consists of three parts: electromagnetic system, delay mechanism and contact. The electromagnetic mechanism is a double-port direct-acting type, the contact system is a micro switch, and the delay mechanism adopts an airbag damper.
(2) Electronic time relay
The electronic time relay is based on the principle that the capacitor voltage in the RC circuit cannot jump, but can only change gradually according to the exponential law, that is, the resistance characteristics of the resistance can obtain the delay.
Features: Wide delay range, up to 3600 S, high accuracy, generally about 5%, small size, shock resistance and easy adjustment.
(3) Motor type time relay
The motor-type time relay uses a miniature synchronous motor to drive the reduction gear train to obtain a delay.
Features: The delay range is wide, up to 72 hours, and the delay accuracy can reach 1%. At the same time, the delay value is not affected by voltage fluctuations and environmental temperature changes.
The delay range and accuracy of motor-type time relays are unmatched by other time relays. Its disadvantages are complex structure, large volume, low life, and expensive, and the accuracy is affected by the frequency of the power supply.
(4) Electromagnetic time relay. The electromagnetic time relay is made by using the principle of slow attenuation of the magnetic flux after the electromagnetic coil is de-energized to delay the release of the armature of the magnetic system to obtain the delayed action principle of the contact. Its characteristic is that the contact capacity is large, so it is controlled. The capacity is large, but the delay time range is small. The accuracy is slightly worse, mainly used in the control of DC circuits
